Thunderbolts Movie Cast Is VERY DIFFERENT FROM Comic Team

Marvel Studios revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that Phase 5 of the MCU would conclude with Thunderbolts, putting together such a unique combination of heroes and anti-heroes to leave their mark.

With Paper Towns director Jake Schreier and Black Widow head writer Eric Pearson on board to create this new team-up excursion, Marvel has the opportunity to explore something the MCU has never seen before with this darker bunch of combatants.

Marvel used the 2022 D23 Fan Expo to announce the MCU characters that will make up the main squad in Thunderbolts after being teased in previous instalments.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, released in 2024, established the team's likely leader, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, albeit a trio of earlier films from the previous decade presented the remainder of the group's important characters.

This squad is normally commanded by the legendary criminal Baron Zemo in the comics, but it has also featured notable characters like Hawkeye and Luke Cage over the years.

But, like the MCU has done so many times before, the Thunderbolts film will provide viewers a new perspective on this team that hasn't been seen in any other media adaptation.

Although Marvel may certainly debut more of the original Thunderbolts members later in the MCU chronology, the squad right now comprises of existing superheroes and anti-heroes ready for fresh challenges.

The squad is also likely to evolve long beyond their single film, as the Multiverse Saga is merely the next chapter in Marvel's massive story.
