Open the Major Association Baseball record books and make some adjustments. There's Spencer Strider now.
In only 130 innings pitched, the former Clemson pitcher and Atlanta Overcomers starter struck out 200 batters, another MLB record.
Strider overtook Corridor of Famer Randy Johnson, whose Arizona set the bar in 2001.
When he did it, he threw 130.2 innings for the Diamond backs.
During his Sunday start against the Philadelphia Phillies, Strider made the accomplishment. Strider, a pitcher who
attended Clemson from 2018 to 2020, has had a tremendous year as the new kid on the block.
